And just as opioid restriction policies deny pain patients the medication they need, they also deny addiction patients the treatment they need, by failing to recognise that they need treatment at all. Recognising those with addiction as our fellow patients only strengthens the discussion around opioid restriction because it reveals how harmful and ineffective it is for EVERYONE.

Moreover, as incorrect as the conflation of pain / sleep patients’ med use and addiction is, the fact remains that it is. By addiction patients under the bus, we only further harm ourselves.
