You’re right, people can write whatever they want. And other people can criticise their writing when it’s culturally insensitive or irresponsible. That’s the beauty of free speech. In theory, it goes both ways. (Of course in practice, it only applies fully to people with privilege which is why people like you and Lionel Shriver get bent when marginalised people exercise our write to freely critique media.)
